CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Ron Sanchez, UVA basketball’s interim head mentor, is out golden state warriors game today as the program’s comprehensive-time chief.
According to a UVA Athletics news launch, Athletics Director Carla Williams declared the decision Wednesday, March twelve.
“I am grateful to Coach Sanchez for accepting this role through this type of vital time for the program,” Williams stated, according to the news launch. “Ron as well as staff offered terrific stability, guidance and guidance for your young Adult men to the group and we have been thankful for his motivation to UVA plus the values which can be foundational to Virginia Gentlemen’s basketball.”
Sanchez was named Virginia’s interim head coach in Oct when Tony Bennett astonishingly retired 3 weeks ahead of the period started out.
